Bohol

Overview

An oval-shaped island of the Visayas, Bohol is a tropical haven of natural beauty. The coastline of the island is skimmed by gentle coves and white sand beaches. Bohol is not as internationally famous compared to other islands in the Philippines but is well-known locally as a paradise for divers and snorkelers. If you are expecting to have a vacation on a picturesque jungle escapade, then Bohol, Philippines would be a must to visit. There are a lot of great places to visit in the area.

The Chocolate Hills are one of the popular tourist destinations to visit. Hundreds of symmetrical mountainous hills lay on the city. These hills are in milk chocolate color during the dry seasons and are green and lush during the rainy season.

The Tarsier Conservatory is also a must to visit. These endangered species locally known as “mamag” are too little primates hanging out in the trees, hiding under the leaves, and gazing at you with their large eyes.

Loboc river cruise is a fantastic way to explore the sights and have your tummy full. Cruising down the river to enjoy the place with a buffet-style lunch is splendid as there is a live band that plays collections of songs. Towards the end of the trip, locals dressed in their traditional clothes singing and dancing are surely welcoming you.

The Mahogany forest is pleasingly incredible. An ideal destination for riders with a beautiful scene where trees are everywhere, and the sun peeking through it is a definite way to experience Bohol.

And if you are that kind of exploratory, Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park would fit you. Flying through the jungle full of views like the chocolate hills and the river is a pleasant experience. Another place that is a must to visit is their Hinagdanan cave. A swim in the deep dark waters of a bat cave, why not?

Dolphin watching and whale watching tours are popular with both residents and visiting tourists. The best season is from March to June, but dolphins can be seen year-round.

Just make sure to go there early in the morning as there will be lighter crowds. The attractions mentioned above are just a sneak peek to Bohol, yet there are still a lot more beautiful places to visit in the area. Come and visit those places that await you.
