Vigan

Overview

Vigan City is one of the oldest towns in the Philippines, dating back as early as the 16th century. It is said to be the best-preserved example of a Spanish colonial city in Asia, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Going around in Vigan by calesa or a horse-drawn carriage is most recommended as it gives the feeling of being transported back to the Spanish period.   

There is much more to see upon visiting in Vigan, great places that you should not miss in your entire life. 

The best time to visit is during the dry seasons, especially from December to February when temperatures are much cooler. If you are planning to go to Vigan, going there is simple. One can either ride a bus, utilize a private vehicle, or rent a car. It will take seven to ten hours of travel time along the Ilocos Highway from Manila to Vigan. Alternatively, you can go to Vigan by plane. Several airlines fly to Vigan, such as the Platinum Skies Airlines, which flies from Manila to Vigan Airport. Also, you can go to the Laoag International Airport where Philippine Airlines fly daily from Manila.
